WATER OUTAGE NOTICE – Boil Your Water Before Using
When: Tuesday, July 23 until further notice
Where: City of Mosier
Due to loss of water pressure in the distribution system on July 22, 2024, potentially harmful bacteria could be present in the water supply. If these bacteria are present, they could make you sick, and are a particular concern for people with weakened immune systems.
What Should You Do?
Do not drink the water without boiling it first. Customers should:
- Bring water to a rolling boil for one minute.
- Allow the water to cool before using it.
- Store the cooled water in a clean container with a cover.
Customers should use boiled water that has cooled, or bottled water, for:
- Drinking
- Brushing teeth
- Washing fruits and vegetables
- Preparing food and baby formula
- Making ice
- Cleaning food contact surfaces
Flush your pipes thoroughly at sinks and showers when water pressure is restored. We will inform you when tests show no bacteria and you no longer need to boil your water.
This boil water advisory is a precaution. To limit risk to health, customers should follow the instructions contained in this advisory.

I, a citizen of Mosier, was not informed of the “ Boil water notice “ until 7-24-2024, on social media, in which I clearly knew by looking at it, it needed boiled due to it being brown and slimy. I just went and purchased safe bottled water. Regardless, I was not notified by the city of Mosier. Once I read about it needing boiled, we still had no electricity to boil the contaminated water until 2 days later.
Great job with that by the way!
Us people of Mosier should have been notified directly and not relied to read on social media days after the fact. Some people had no notification due to not having social media because power being out, no wifi to get recent social media notifications that were late anyway.
Good day! Do Better next time.
Seems lack a time from Sunday to Tuesday for this notice. Anybody w a clue wouldnt drink it . But what took so long for mr Grim to let us know? Tom Mallery
