MOSIER WATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS
PHASE 1 – EASTSIDE BPS / PHASE 2 – EMERGENCY SUPPLY WELL
PROBLEM: The City of Mosier’s water system is vulnerable to the failure of its water supply system. The existing Eastside Booster Pump Station (BPS) is obsolete and has exceeded its design life. Failure of this pump station will result in a water outage to all of eastside Mosier. The City has one well (Well No. 4). A backup well is needed in the event Well No. 4 fails. Without a backup well, the City will quickly suffer from a water outage if Well No. 4 fails.
SOLUTION: A new well and a new BPS – In 2019 the City acquired a $1.4 million loan/grant from USDA to build a new well and a new BPS. The BPS will break ground in August 2021. The new well construction is scheduled for the summer of 2022.
