Extreme Weather and Heat Advisory

We don’t yet know for sure how hot it’ll get next week, or for how long, but it’s possible we’ll get as high as 109°, and it could be near or above 100° for a week or more – starting as soon as Sunday.

Drink water, stay inside, provide water for pets, wildlife etc, check on your neighbor, pay close attention to exposure to heat.

From our Valued Partners at Waste Connections

“Looking forward to next week’s heat index I’ll bring our guys in at 5:30 am. We’ll send out a call and email blast to our customers. If we miss anyone due to a late set out, we’ll make it right with no additional charge. Please let me know if you have any concerns. Thanks in advance for helping me with the safety of our collection team”

To our residents in the City of Mosier

Do you appreciate, value, and love your Waste Collections team? This is a great opportunity to let them know! A small note or reminder of your appreciation goes a long way in the HOT HOT HOT weather driving around all day with no air conditioning!

Did you know that Waste Connections regional manager drove out from Portland in a snowstorm to meet on an overpass to provide gift cards to families in need near the holidays? Also offering boxes of food to families experiencing hard times. This leadership and dedication are what sets them apart.

I mention this because of the gratitude Mosier residents have expressed on multiple occasions in Mosier City Council meetings. Sometimes, the person “on the ground” needs to be reminded to keep pushing through in adverse conditions. Particularly in this heatwave.

Let’s try and let them know we care as they pass through our community in the severe weather conditions.
