WATER OUTAGE NOTICE – Boil Your Water Before Using
When: Tuesday, August 15, 2023, from 8 AM to 5 PM
Where: Eastside Mosier (east of Mosier Creek Bridge) except for the Mosier Creek Condos
On August 15, 2023, a contractor will be performing work on the water system to abandon an old water service. This will result in a water outage for your residence that may last between 8 AM and 5 PM. The outage will include all of the eastside of Mosier (east of Mosier Creek Bridge) except for the Mosier Creek Condos.
Due to loss of water pressure in the distribution system, potentially harmful bacteria could be present in the water supply. If these bacteria are present, they could make you sick and are a particular concern for people with weakened immune systems. The affected area is limited, but if you have received this notice directly from your water provider, you are in the affected area.
What Should You Do?
Do not drink the water without boiling it first. Customers should:
- Bring water to a rolling boil for one minute.
- Allow the water to cool before using it.
- Store the cooled water in a clean container with a cover.
Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation.
Flush your pipes thoroughly at sinks and showers when water pressure is restored. We will inform you when tests show no bacteria and you no longer need to boil your water. The boil water advisory should be lifted on August 16th, unless otherwise notified.
This boil water advisory is a precaution. To limit risk to health, customers should follow the instructions contained in this advisory.
